Greetings!
I hope everyone is prepared for the holidays. What a wonderful time of year. I live in North Carolina and can't believe the weather we've been having this week. In the 80s! I miss having an excuse to build a fire in our fireplace, but it will get cold soon enough I'm sure.
My children love putting up the decorations, and this year, I let them decorate the tree entirely on their own. As a result, we have clusters of bulbs together on the tree, and bare spots in others. The top of the tree is not decorated because no one was tall enough to reach the top. But who cares, right? They had a blast decorating the tree and have a big sense of pride as a result. They've been bringing all their friends over and saying "Look! I decorated the tree with my brother and sister!" Then they smile ear to ear. What more could I ask for? That is all I want for Christmas - my children's smiles, hugs, and kisses.
I am sure that there will be plenty of opportunities for my artist friends to paint the beautiful scenes of the season - Christmas trees with presents, sledding down a snow-covered hill, sitting by the fire reading a book. Pull out the canvas and create this holiday season - then send me images of your paintings. I will publish them on Red Easel.
Also, this will be our last newsletter till the first of the year.
I hope everyone has an exciting and memorable Christmas. This painting is from Kerry O'Neill - "The Nutcracker" created for the O'Neill family Christmas Card of 2006. You can view more of his work at: http://www.kerryoneill.com/

What Work is This?
I have had a number of people ask me if I had any information about
this painting. It took some research, but I did discover a bit about
the artist and the art. The artist is a living, contemporary artist
and has won many awards and has had sold-out exhibitions all over the
country.
This piece is of specific interest to many because it was featured
in the movie "The Thomas Crown Affair" on the wall of Thomas Crown's
home during an intimate scene with Pierce Brosnan and Renee Russo. If
you've seen the movie, you can't possibly have overlooked this scene,
the music, or the painting!
So this week have some fun - curl up on your sofa and watch the
movie "The Thomas Crown Affair" with someone special. The paintings
are wonderful and the music is great.
Comments? Of course we want you to comment!

Now anybody with a home computer can produce a professional,
high-quality, hardbound book with a full-color dust jacket for less
than $30, thanks to Blurb.com's
revolutionary online book-design software for the Mac and PC. The

more enticing. I can't think of a better way for artists to promote
their work and their life as an artist than through a tool such as
this. They make great gifts too!
