Red Easel welcomes Professional Visual Artists to submit their work for
review and inclusion in our artist directory. The first 100 artist
members were free and have been provided a lifetime membership and the
ability to showcase in their own gallery up to 4 images of their finest
work, a link to their website and blogs, and the opportunity to get noticed by a
growing community of artists, galleries, fine art enthusiasts, and
collectors.
Each artist in our directory will also have an opportunity to be featured on every page of Red Easel. We feature 1 artist every month in the left sidebar throughout the site. In addition, we feature this artist in our monthly Newsletter / Magazine as well. Many times, the featured artist won their "featured" status in a fine art contest we might have had on the site. For instance, "What Work is This?" is a feature that we do on Art History and the winner is the featured artist in the following month. Other times, the artist is chosen based on their contributions to Red Easel. Occasionally, a featured artist is picked at random. Many times, the Newsletter is the first that artists discover a contest, so, be sure and subscribe to our Red Easel Newsletter too!
Most importantly, having a Red Easel Gallery helps you to get noticed on the web. Our blog has a top ranking in Google searches and when someone searches your name, your Red Easel Gallery will have top billing in Google searches.
Your Red Easel Gallery is not meant to take the place of having your own website or portfolio to showcase your work, it is just a portfolio representation of your work that helps galleries and collectors find you, get a glimpse of your work, and visit your website and blog too where they can contact you if necessary. It is an avenue by which others can find you and your beautiful work.
We do not accept every artist that submits their work. We value every artist and every submission, however, we have a group of professional artists who vote on every submission based on the work submitted, the artist's website, and the artist's commitment to their work as a fine artist. This is important to Red Easel in building a gallery of the very finest visual artists in many mediums from around the world. We communicate with each other, share ideas and opinions as well.
There is a lot of value in becoming a Red Easel Gallery member, and it is not limited to simply having another place on the web whereby you showcase your work. We are a community of artists that share their lives, their stories, their work, their struggles, and their successes. We encourage every artist member to share their personal stories, tutorials, awards, lessons learned, moments of reflection, and more, with our readers. We want you to share your story as an artist so that our readers come to know you for the artist and the person that you are. Why did you become an artist? What inspires you? The stories on Red Easel are every artist's gift to our community of readers. That is what makes Red Easel so special. It is not just another place on the web for information on exhibitions or contests or tutorials. It is not a forum. It is a story and a conversation. It is information and inspiration. It is the story about the life of every artist who contributes to our publication. That - in and of itself - will add value to your work and your presence in the art community.
If you are already an artist member of Red Easel, simply write your story and submit with images to susan@redeasel.com, or shoot me an email with your story idea before you write it. Either way is fine. I will make any edits as necessary and let you know when the story will be published. After that, you can copy the URL link and post it on your site as a published artist.

Include any information regarding Awards, Recognition, and Exhibitions that were prominent in your career as a Professional Visual Artist.
Please include 3-5 images of your best work for consideration as an artist member of Red Easel.
Submission does not guarantee inclusion in our Professional Visual Artist Directory. All submissions are juried into our directory by our jury of 5 Award-winning Professional Visual Artists. Your artist portfolio is judged based on quality, subject matter, composition, value relationships, and artist's resume.

Every artist has their own "page" to showcase their work, and included in that page will be a short bio or artist statement and links to your website and blog. We do not add your email address. We want to protect your interest and value your presence in our gallery. Any visitor who wishes to contact you will be able to go directly to your website and contact you that way.

Every artist is listed in 3 areas of the site:
1. Gallery: Your listing will be alphabetized by last name and will look like the listing above.
2. Portfolio: You will have your own personal page to showcase your work. The number of works on your page depend on the type of gallery you purchased with Red Easel.
3. Directory: Every Artist also has their name in the Artist Directory that links to their Red Easel Gallery.
