My true love had a couple things to share with you. First of all, I want to thank everyone for your well wishes since my hubby has been out of work for 15 months now. It has been a tough year. Building Red Easel has been my focus and I am very proud of its direction and growth! That is all thanks to you - my fellow artists and friends.
Today is the last day this week for an opportunity to win some great gifts on Red Easel - until Monday, of course, and then it starts again. The winners for this week's giveaways will be posted tomorrow. All of this week's giveaways end at 10pm this evening. EST. So, if you are on the west coast, that would be 7pm. Just thought I should make that clear.
Also, all of the gifts offered, have been gifts to me to offer to you - my readers and fellow artist friends - from friends and sponsors. They have been kind enough to support me in my business endeavors without wanting anything in return. Several did not want mention at all for fear that it would generate an influx of requests for gifts for other blogs. I completely understand and am so grateful that they valued Red Easel, our message, our work, our contribution to the artist community, enough to make such a wonderful contribution this holiday season. To those sponsors I say "Thank you." You are helping me build a community of artists and stories that will hopefully be of value for years to come.
I wanted all of my readers to know, too, that in consideration of these wonderful gifts, that I have forgone choosing the winners for each giveaway in an effort to let you know that I am not favoring any particular reader who has commented in the giveaways. The winners are chosen randomly by the person who has offered the gift. I will know who the winner's are for each of the week's giveaways on Saturday morning and will announce them all when I have them all.
Now, on with the show!
I have great admiration and respect for Kevin Macpherson. He is an extraordinary artist. He creates the most beautiful oil paintings with the least amount of resources - a limited palette. He has taught many artists how to utilize a limited palette as well. I know I have learned a great deal from Kevin, not just from admiring his work, but also from reading his books, and being mentored by him from time to time.
This is why I am so happy to offer my readers this wonderful collection of Gamblin fine oils and medium set chosen by Kevin MacPherson. I believe this set is a great way to learn the essentials in color mixing and also in value painting preparation. I love Gamblin oils too! They are one of my favorite oils to use in my studio as well.
